A tub made of stone or terracotta for individual immersion in balaneia (Greek-type baths), where it is usually found along the walls of the round tholos. It has a characteristic shape, with a seat at the high end and a small basin at the foot end; bathers would sit in it and an attendant would pour water over them. Individual tubs were also occasionally found in private bathrooms.
